Miss Cell 2022: Prison Comptroller Redeployed After Suspected Murderer, Chidinma Emerged Winner

The Nigerian Correctional Service has redeployed the comptroller of the Kirikiri maximum prison in Lagos State, Lizzie Ekpendu, over a beauty pageant held in the facility to mark this year’s international women’s day according to a new post shared by Instablog9ja.

At the competition which was the first of its kind in any prison in Nigeria, 21-year-old Chidinma Ojukwu, the alleged killer of Super TV CEO, Micheal Ataga, was crowned the winner of the pageant, tagged Miss Cell 2022.

Immediately some Nigerians expressed unhappiness with the development in the back of the gruesome murder the winner committed. To this end, some heads have started rolling as Vanguard confirms the comptroller of the female prisons, Mrs. Ekpendu, was redeployed last week as a result of the matter.

She was redeployed to the Lagos Command Headquarters, Alagbon, Ikoyi.

“I can confirm to you that Mrs. Ekpendu, the Comptroller of Kirikiri Female Prison has been redeployed to the Lagos Command Headquarters, Ikoyi. She has been replaced by another senior female officer,” the source said.
